What Exactly Is Thai Food?

The food from the Southeast Asia country of Thailand is well known for its wonderful cuisine.  The food is based on five fundamental flavors salty, sweet, spicy, sour and bitter.  And if you want to be true to the dishes, you will need to add only fresh herbs and spices, and a lot of fish sauce.

Each individual area of Thailand is known for specific ingredients and tastes. For instance, The Southern curries usually contain turmeric and coconut milk and often use lime leaves.  The Northern area tends to include lime juice.

While most oriental dishes are traditionally eaten with chopsticks, in the Thai cuisine, noodles are eaten with chopsticks and spoons whereas other food is eaten with a fork and a spoon. The food is served in bite size slices or chunks, which are easy to manipulate without a knife.  And of course, some foods, such as sticky rice are meant to be eaten with the hands.  The rice is formed into a ball and then dipped into various sauces and side dishes. Have you noticed few casino companies in Europe are now promoting Thai cuisine in their casino venues.
