A Typical Thai Meal

If you are going to have a Thai meal, there are many choices.  Appetizers are served to begin the meal and you could choose rice cakes with herbed toppings, satay or even spring rolls.  Salads are always presented with an emphasis to salty, sweet or sour.  The traditional Thai soups usually have lots of different textures and flavors and they are normally served with rice.

All single dishes tend to incorporate lots of hot exotic spices.  And they are always served with rice or noodles.  The dips are usually complex and they can actually be eaten as the mail dish when accompanied with meat or vegetables.  A typical dip can include fish sauce or shrimp paste, chilies, and garlic and lime juice.

The famous curries of the Thai cuisine always utilize fresh herbs.  While very popular, the curries range from the very simple made from shrimp paste, shallots and peppers to the very complex which includes peppercorns, lemon grass, garlic and kaffir lime peel.
